A dumbass driver had some cleaning up to do after driving into wet concrete Wednesday.
A Public Works and Utilities Department representative, Thomas Shafer, said the individual made the mistake of driving behind the traffic control devices and into the freshly laid concrete.
Shaffer said traffic was delayed while the vehicle was being removed near 48th Street and Old Cheney Road.
The driver will pay for the damage done to the road, which Shafer said will run around $10,000 when accounting for crew time, removal operations, new concrete, and delays.
Officials continue to ask drivers to be especially careful in construction areas to protect workers and to prevent this kind of damage.
